GREEN SPACE LAB
In an effort to provide urban communities with high quality STEM Education and Programming, Learning Through Nature is requesting funding to establish Green Space Labs and Aquatic Living Environments that will be accessible to residents of Brooklyn, NY for field trips, visits, educational seminars and workshops. The ability to offer state of the art laboratory space to allow for youth to become experienced and familiar with the Scientific Method, the use of tools of Measurement, protective gear and equipment, as well as equipment used to conduct experiments will serve to enrich and enhance STEM based curriculum provided at their primary Educational Institution. The subject matter and curriculum taught, that is based upon the Learning Through Nature Educational program, connects to Science Scope and Sequence that is used to trace the expectancy levels of students at each respective grade level. This enables the offering to be used as a primary source of education while providing the exposure to new topics and field trip aura that will infuse fun in the study of the sciences.
This Green Space Technology and Living Environment lab will also allow students the opportunity to have hands on learning time that can serve to expand on their hours of instruction. The Lab will be open and available at crucial times when continued education and mentoring is needed. In providing this additional instruction, we are mindful of the need to assist parents that would like for their children to have educational activities that will serve as an alternative for them on their free/down time.
Scheduled times would include: Monday to Friday 11 am - 7pm, Saturday 9am- 8pm and Sunday 12pm- 6pm
The curriculum and subject matter covered will include:
